This electric scooter is spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet and powerful. It was created for everyday use to cover longer distances quickly, elegantly and economically, and for those riders who demand more power.

Its heart is an inboard 6.2 kW motor.  The EK3 is quick off the mark to beat the city traffic and goes on to a top speed in excess of 90 kph (where permissible).

With a class leading battery – bigger means more range and more freedom – the EK3 will get up to 80 kilometres on a single charge (depending on rider weight, riding style and terrain).

EK3 features contactless unlocking, locking and ignition for maximum convenience without compromising on security.  The remote key also alloys you to immobilise your scooter from a distance as well as activate and deactivate the alarm.

Highlights of the EK3 equipment: all-round LED lights, automatic light switch-off delay (to help you see after you have parked), cruise control, reverse gear, helmet storage compartment under the seat, disk brakes, USB charge port in its handy cubby, and ergonomic design.

The EK3 also comes in a choice of colours, silver grey, rich red, matt black and white.

You'll need a restricted motorcycle licence or above to be able to ride this scooter.

The Horwin EK3 has an incredible top speed of 90 km/h, so you can reach your destination in an instant. It also sports a range of up to 80 km (travelling at 45km/h with a 75kg driver). 0-60km in 6 seconds.

Keyless start? You got it. Keep your key in your pocket and EK3 proximity detector will start when you are astride the scooter, with a swipe of the display. The Remote control key also allows you to set and disable the anti-theft alarm.

The EK3 has powerful front and rear disc brakes - the front brake is 220 mm and the rear is 190 mm. The scooter has CBS braking (Combined Braking System) which works by linking braking pressure applied by the levers to the front and rear wheels together to reduce stopping distance and help with skid avoidance under braking.

HORWIN EK1 and EK3 are equipped with a removable 72V high voltage intelligent lithium battery. With 36Ah volume, the range is around 80km (in Comfort Mode). This is a bigger standard battery than every competitor, giving you a greater range., and more freedom.

The SOC monitoring system and modern battery management system BMS can effectively reduce failures and provide multiple protection.

The 8A intelligent charger (supplied) can be used to charge batteries on or off the bike. Removing the battery is as simple. Just unplug a cable and lift-out.

The battery life is over 1000 cycles (a full discharge and charge) which means for most users a battery should last between 5 and 10 years. Batteries can be returned to your authorised Horwin dealer for recycling at end of life.

The central motor of the EK3 is designed by Horwin.

Its 6.2 kW output offers the immediate throttle response of a bigger scooter, and propels you up to 90 kph where permitted of course. It does all of this quietly, smoothly and emissions free.

The highly efficient Horwin motor perfectly combines performance with low energy consumption. Its inboard position reduces un-sprung weight, contributing to a better ride quality. Final drive is provided by a maintenance-friendly chain drive.

The automatic daytime running lamp DRL lights up with an intensive white LED light. This improved lighting system enhances safety – especially on rainy and foggy days. An automatic switch-off delay function when the lights are turned off illuminates the way to the garage or front door before you dismount.

The headlamps are fitted with three LED lamps. Their brighter and whiter light allows you to literally cut through the darkness, making them far superior to standard filament lamps. In comparison to the yellow light produced by conventional halogen lamps, the colour of these LED lamps is also a very good approximation to natural daylight. They give the rider a more realistic impression of the road situation.

All Horwin scooters and motorcycles come with a Limited 2 Year, 10,000 kilometre Warranty (whichever comes first).

The warranty covers protection from failure for 2 years on all major components; Frame, motor, battery, Battery Management System (BMS), while all other components carry a 12 month warranty protecting you from manufacturing defects.
